(Newark, United States) – “There is no doubt that even in this moment of crisis we have many opportunities to live in solidarity, to help the weakest.
I am concerned for those who are alone, for the elderly, for those who feel abandoned by everyone, especially the church. I think we can help with the Internet, with emails or other forms of social media.
“I hope all of this will pass soon, so when the fast ends, we will be more hungry for God,” are the words of Cardinal Joe Tobin CSsR to the Latin community in his archdiocese of Newark, in the United States.
From these words, we can accept the invitation to solidarity for the weakest.
The Redemptorist Cardinal, in his message to those who “speak the language of angels”, expresses his closeness and his pain for not being able to celebrate the Eucharist together.
But he invites them to do it in the near future. “In the meantime, I ask you not to forget solidarity, the bonds of charity that unite you.”
