CELEBRATIONS IN THE OMPH JUBILEE YEAR
ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS OF THE PROMOTIONAL VIDEO CONTEST
The Jubilee Year of the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual help continues to be an experience of joy, of prayer, of service and of devotion. This is manifest in a variety of imaginative and creative ways across countries, cultures, and even Churches.
The Central OMPH Jubilee Commission has been organizing programs and competitions to stimulate interest and creativity so that in every manner, Our Mother of Perpetual Help is better known and loved and proclaimed.
– Already, we have held a Competition for the Official Logo for the Jubilee Year and this has now been formally adopted by the Redemptorist Congregation.
– Several persons – Redemptorist confreres, those belonging to the religious Redemptorist family and lay associates and lay devotees – continue to write articles of scholarship, devotion and inspiration, in this ongoing Jubilee Year.
– We have further invited confreres and devotees to compose songs, poetry, artful designs and creative displays. We have encouraged them to hold exhibitions, especially on the local levels.
Some months ago, we had invited devotees to prepare a promotional video concerning this OMPH Jubilee Year. We offered three prizes for the best entries. We had received responses across the continents before the end of the preceding year. We saw this participation by the different persons as more than just a display of art. We saw it as an imaginative expression and experience of faith and devotion; a stimulus to invite people to enter into the experience of the Jubilee; and a call to be missionaries of this wonderful Icon of Love.
It is now our joy to thank all those who participated in this competition. We appreciate the interest, the dedication and the research that went into its production.
And, with gratitude, we offer our congratulations to the three who made it to the winning list. They have already been informed by personal mail and we now wish to announce it formally through the SCALA news magazine and the OMPH Jubilee website: www.iconoflove.org
