BEATIFICATION OF MOTHER MARIA CELESTE CROSTAROSA,
FOUNDRESS OF THE ORDER OF THE MOST HOLY REDEEMER
Dear Confreres and Sisters, Associates and friends,
With great joy, the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer received the news that the Holy Father, Pope Francis, had approved the Beatification of Mother Maria Celeste Crostarosa. At last, I can communicate to you the program for the Celebrations of this important event. The Beatification will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Foggia, Italy.
Within in the next few weeks, I hope to send you a letter about the importance of this event for the Sisters of the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer, as well as for the Redemptorist Missionaries and our Associates, and other Sisters affiliated with our Charism and Congregation.
I have already heard from some monasteries of Redemptoristine Sisters about their plans to participate in these events. I encourage any Monasteries with plans to send delegates to contact Fr. Emilio Lage, so that we can coordinate and prepare for these events as much as possible.
I have also heard that some Redemptorist Confreres are planning to participate in these events as well. I ask any Redemptorists who intend to come to Rome to please contact the superior of the Casa Sant’Alfonso, Fr. Arturo Martinez, as soon as possible – and preferably before March 31. Space is limited, and we will do our best to assist with arrangements, but we need to know soon who intends to come.
The Beatification of Mother Maria Celeste is an important event for all of us who share the charism, tradition and spirituality of Most Holy Redeemer. Although only a few representatives can participate personally in the celebrations in Foggia, I encourage every Redemptoristine Monastery to celebrate this occasion with prayerful preparation as well as a special Eucharist of Thanksgiving. I invite every Redemptorist Community, Parish, Shrine and Church to also celebrate this occasion with a public acknowledgement of the events on the weekend of June 18-19, as well as a Eucharist of Thanksgiving shortly after the Beatification.
In communion with Mother Maria Celeste, may this event be an occasion for renewal and blessing for the Order and the Congregation. May our Mother of Perpetual Help continue to accompany us in our vocation to live and proclaim the Copiosa Redemptio, as a Viva Memoria of the Redeemer.
