The Redemptorist Youth from all over the world came to WYD in Krakow, Poland. They gathered on July 25th, 2016 in our Shrine of OLPH for the Holy Mass, which was presided by Superior General Fr. Michael Brehl C.SsR.
Around 1500 youth connected to the Redemptorists take part in the World Youth Day in Krakow as a group called “Redemptor.” On Monday, July 25th they gathered in our Shrine of OLPH to give thanks and ask the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help as they make a pilgrimage of faith. On Tuesday, July 26th they went to the shrines of St. John Paul II and Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki and to Opening Ceremony and Holy Mass in the afternoon.
The most important day for our group will be Wednesday, July 27th – we will celebrate the Alphonsian Day at the Podgorski Square (very close to our shine). In the morning we will gather for a catechesis and Holy Mass and in the evening for a so called Youth Festival – a feast of faith and joy. National groups will be presented, all will be able to learn something about the history of the christianity in Poland. Important part of the gathering will be a meeting with Fr. General Michael Brehl C.Ss.R, who is going to give his message to the youth, to the Redemptorists and all those they share our spirituality. The presence of the icon of OLPH will be mentioned as well.
All these parts of the event will be twined with music, songs and testimonies of youth (also of the youth from Iraq and their archbishop Bashar Warda C.Ss.R from Erbil, Iraq).
