(Belo Horizonte, Brazil) – Between 6 and 9 September, was held at the Retreat House of St. Joseph (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), the National Commission meeting of JUMIRE (Youth Missionary Redemptorist). The meeting was coordinated by Fr. Américo de Oliveira, Superior of the Redemptorist Province MG-RJ-ES and provincial responsibility for youth at the level of Brazil. In this meeting were are representatives of the units of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Goias, Campo Grande, Bahia, Fortaleza and Recife, for a total of 18 participants.
The moments of prayer and celebration were led by Father Vicente de Paula Ferreira, C.Ss.R., from the Community Vocational Dom Muniz, Father Marcos Silva, from Bahia, father Mello of Campos Grande.
Father Américo highlighted some important elements of the meeting. “I enjoyed the National Commission meeting. In fact, I see that we have a healthy youth and that really identifies with the Redemptorist charism. It ‘was a joy for the Province of Rio to welcome this Commission. I thank the Redemptorist Youth of St. Joseph for the welcome and cooperation, and also fathers Flávio, Bruno and Vicente for all the help”.
The next meeting will be held in March 2017 in Aparecida.
