The Redemptorist Conference for Africa and Madagascar (COREAM) organised in Nairobi, Kenya training for Redemptorist Bursars. English speaking Bursars from Redemptorist units in Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and Mozambique participated in an extensive four-day programme between June 18th and June 21st. This was followed by French-speaking Bursars from Redemptorist Units in Congo, Niger, Burkina – Faso, Angola, Madagascar between June 22nd and June 25th. The training was delivered by Fr. Gerry O’Connor C.S.sR. from the Dublin Province who is the Procurator for Africa and Madagascar and Malcolm Salida a Redemptorist lay associate from South Africa.
This training followed on very successful similar training in Cape Town in South Africa last year. Topics ranged from bank reconciliations to gospel stewardship to COREAM’s anti-fraud policy and COREAM’s whistle blowing policy. Gratitude is due to Misean Cara, Ireland for helping to fund the training.
