The Feast of Blessed Metod Dominik Trčka celebrated in the Temple of Descend of Holy Spirit in Michalovce, Slovakia from 26th to 27th of August, 2017. It is here in this Church the relics of Blessed Metod is venerated. The temple of Descent of Holy Spirit is a Redemptorist church, that became a Minor Basilica, 5 years ago and it is a very important church for all of eastern Slovakia. Adjacent to the church, which was constructed in 1934-1935, is the Redemptorist Monastery and the Vice-Provincial house.
On Saturday evening the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Redemptorist Bishop Milan Chautur. And on Sunday morning the divine liturgy was celebrated by Archbishop Cyril Vasil, secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental churches in Rome. For the Vice-Province of Michalovce Metod is not only a Blessed and Martyr, but also the founder of the Vice-Province. Blessed Metod was the first Greek Catholic Redemptorist who worked in Slovakia and then he became the first Vice-Provincial of Michalovce Vice-Province. After liturgical celebration on Sunday afternoon, there was a gathering in the garden of the monastery in which a lot of people participated.
