(New Jersey, USA) Phase III of the 25th General Chapter began for the North American Conference of the Redemptorists today at San Alfonso Retreat House, Long Branch, New Jersey, USA. Capitulars have travelled from across Canada and the United States and joined with the Father Michael Brehl, Superior General, Father Jack Kingsbury, the Conference Coordinator for North America, and Brother Jeffrey Rolle of the General Council. They will spend the week discussing and planning the implementation of the decisions made at Phase III in Pattaya, Thailand. As they gathered, the capitulars noted the absence of Father Rodney Olive, who could not attend the session because he is with the people in Dominica recovering from hurricane Maria. The capitulars are praying in solidarity with those who are suffering from recent earthquakes and storms. They ask for prayerful support of their work this week.
