(Baclaran, Philippines) – In Manila, Wednesdays are popularly called “Baclaran Day” due to congested roads brought on by pilgrims to the shrine.
Thousands of devotees flood the National Shrine of Baclaran every Wednesday to attend Mass and pray the Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. There are 5 Masses and 13 Novena Services every Wednesday.

“What kind of society is this wherein elderly people cannot enjoy the rest of their life?” One of them approached me, knowing that I am a priest, said, “Father, di ba marangal ang trabaho namin.” (Father, Our job is a decent one, isn’t it?) It broke my heart and without words, I just nod my head, finding myself in tears.
For the elderly and person with disabilities who tried their best to make for a living, “LOVING MOTHER PRAY FOR US”
