Extraordinary Assembly of the North-East Region of the URB (Union of Redemptorists of Brazil) with the General Government
(Lagoa Seca, Paraíba, Brazil) – From 26 February to 2 March, about 70 Redemptorists gathered for the Assembly and the Extraordinary Visit of the General Government in the city of Lagoa Seca, Paraíba, with confreres from the Vice Province of Fortaleza, Vice Province of Recife and Vice Province of Bahia, in addition to the major superiors of the Vice Province of Manaus and the Province of São Paulo.
Animated by the Coordinator of the Conference of Redemptorists of Latin America and the Caribbean, Fr. Marcelo Araújo, and the General Consultor, Fr. Rogerio Gomes, the Assembly offered the occasion for a fraternal meeting and to reflect together on the proposals of the 25th General Chapter, in order to adopt concrete measures towards a commitment of solidarity with the missionary implications of restructuring.
All the participants have the hope of seeing our Congregation restructured in Brazil and Latin America and the Caribbean, so that our units are an integral part of the mission, in this wounded world, where we want to be witnesses of the Redeemer.
