(Belo Horizonte, Brazil) – About 20 confreres from the Province of Rio participated in the Continuing Formation Programme, led by Jesuit priest Mario França Miranda, at the Retreat House of St Joseph, in Belo Horizonte (MG), on 6th and 7th of March. The event was coordinated by the Secretary of Religious Life, Fr. Nelson Antônio Linhares, C.Ss.R., who also presented the following theme to the participants: “The Church of Francis: challenges for the mission”.
The opening Mass was presided over by Fr. Nelson, C.Ss.R. and then Father Mario began the reflections. The resource person spoke on evangelization in a general way, reminding the history of the Church, the humanity of Jesus Christ and presenting the theme ‘the outgoing missionary Church in the thought of Pope Francis,’ among other elements.
In group meetings, discussions took place on themes that are relevant for different pastoral activities, such as the introduction into the life of the Church with the concept: “to be a Christian means to be a missionary disciple.”
According to Fr. Américo de Oliveira, C.Ss.R., the questions posed by Fr. Mario in the Continuing Formation helps to acquire more light and wisdom for liberating evangelization.
