Meeting of the Redemptorist Family in Brazil

(Belo Horizonte, Brazil) – The preparatory committee for the Redemptorist Meeting was held on 6th April 2018. The event took place in the Redemptorist Community of the Church of São José, in Belo Horizonte (MG), which warmly welcomed the participants to the meeting.

Among those were present: Fr. Marcelo Araújo – Coordinator of the Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean, Fr. Vicente Soria – Provincial of Paraguay and Coordinator of the Commission, Fr. Américo de Oliveira – Provincial of Rio de Janeiro, Sr. Virginia Peña – Redemptorist Missionary (Chile) and Sr. Lúcia Alves – Oblates of the Most Holy Redeemer.

The participants made an evaluation from the last meeting of the Redemptorist Family, held from 6 to 9 July 2016 in Aparecida (SP), in which 57 members from 16 countries and 12 religious congregations had participated. They also discussed the program for the next meeting, which will take place from 2 to 6 July 2018 in the Province of Paraguay.

The Redemptorist Family includes all the congregations based on the charism of the Redemptorist Congregation.

Besides the pleasant stay with the confreres of São José and the completion of a trip to the mining capital, the team visited the Dom Muniz Vocational Community.
