(San Francisco, California ) The Redemptorists of the Denver Province are preaching the Novena for the 107th consecutive year in honor of Good St. Anne from July 18 to 26 in San Francisco at St. Anne of the Sunset Church, widely known as the “Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré of the West” to the delight of native San Franciscans.
Fathers Patrick Keyes, John Schmidt, Maurice Nutt and Lamar Partin are preaching on the theme “The Joy of Love in the Family” using reflections from Pope Francis. In addition to novena prayers, Mass is celebrated and blessings with the relic of St. Anne are given during three services each day except Saturday, then a mid-morning novena service will be followed by a Eucharistic procession through the neighborhood. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available before and after each service, and the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be offered at all three services next Tuesday.
Confreres at Liguori Mission House have placed an Icon of Good St. Anne before the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in their chapel and ask others to join them in prayer for the confreres preaching the novena and the intentions of all of God’s people participating in the novena throughout the entire world.
