(Campo Grande, Brazil) The New Year has begun with a year of celebration, the joy of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Province of Campo Grande, which includes the states of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul. It is time to thank the Most Holy Redeemer for the American missionaries, our pioneers of the province but also by the loyalty, dynamism and missionary zeal of the priests, brothers and lay people who continue the mission of proclaiming abundant redemption in the various missionary activities.
On October 12, 1989, the vice-province of Campo Grande became a province. The Redemptorist Fr. Lourenço Kearns, the first provincial superior, affirms: “The challenges were immense, a moment of jubilation, but also of fear. But we succeeded and we can thank God and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.”
A commemorative logo, by Marilise Santos an artist from Paraná, will be used by the communities of the provincial unit to remember what we celebrate. Therefore, it is time to rejoice in history and the many blessings that have come to us in course of these years.
May the Mother of Perpetual Help encourage us in our mission and help us to celebrate this time of grace and joy!
