(Pondicherry, India) Rev. Fr. Periyanayagam Anantharaj, C.Ss.R. was ordained a Redemptorist Priest by Most Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar, Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Pondicherry on 2nd May 2019.
Rev. Fr. Edward Joseph, C.Ss.R. (Provincial Superior of the Province of Bangalore), and the Redemptorist Confreres were present for this joyous occasion.
Fr. Anantharaj was ordained a priest with 3 other Deacons belonging to Pondicherry Archdiocese. The Cathedral was flocked with more than 100 priests, religious and faithful to witness this ordination ceremony. During the Homily, Fr. Louis (Episcopal Vicar for Religious of the Archdiocese of Pondicherry) reflected as to how a priest should be close to the poor and the abandoned by being simple and prayerful. The atmosphere was prayerful and joyful.
We thank the Almighty God for Fr. Anantharaj, C.Ss.R. and pray that our Redeemer may help him to be faithful to what he has received and be close to the wounded.
