(Cieneguilla, Peru) Altogether 15 Redemptorists from the North-South Vice- Provinces of Peru and the Province of Quito, participated in the moral-theological refresher course that was held in our Retreat home in Cieneguilla, Lima-Peru, from 6th to 9th August. María Concienzao, a lay missionary of the Most Holy Redeemer, who at this time works as a volunteer in Peru, also accompanied us.
Father Rogério Gómes, guided us to reflect on the following issues:
- A moment of change
- Paradigm changes in human sexuality
- Youth and sexuality
- Sexuality disorders
- Depression and suicidal behaviour
- Paedophilia
- Homosexuality
- The reality of the family today
The topics discussed are very interesting for our mission with the most abandoned and prepares us towards an accompaniment in pastoral mercy in a wounded world.
In these days, we have shared our valuable time of prayer, reflection, dialogue and moments to talk and discuss our fears, doubts, hopes and joys as Redemptorists who accompany and live in solidarity with our people.
We thank the Major Superiors of Peru for their initiative to promote these meetings and Fr. Rogério Gómes for his availability and wisdom in the presentation, reflections on these issues.
May our Lord Jesus, the Virgin Mary, St. Alphonsus, all the saints, martyrs and blessed of Redemptorist family help us to become good missionaries.
