Today, in solidarity, people affected by the coronavirus pandemic in many countries are reflecting and implementing measures and ways that can contribute, as effectively as possible, physical and mental well-being and provide mutual help and hope.
Since April 2nd the Shrine of Šiluva, Kaunas Archdiocese, Raseiniai District Municipality, PI “Discover Raseiniai” and Caritas Lithuania are inviting everyone to join in the initiative of bringing light into the darkness that has befallen us. The Shrine of Šiluva, where the Blessed Virgin Mary’s title is Health of the Sick, is urging us to unite our hearts in prayer and actual support through the “The Map of Light” project. The aim of this project is to have as many as possible intercede in prayer for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. In this way, we can spread the message of hope that together we can counterbalance the statistics of infections and deaths with the statistics of prayer, support, unity and light.
Redemptorists Fr. Rastislav Dluhý and Fr. Peter Hertel that minister in a new community in Kaunas, Lithuania, are helping the initiatives of the local church also by to inviting people all over the world to join in prayer of rosary.
We invite you to join in praying the Rosary and symbolically light a candle on the map http://siluva.lt/en/map-of- light/
Each evening at 19:00 a mass is celebrated in the National Marian shrine of Šiluva for those who have joined the prayer of rosary that day.
