(Lagos, Nigeria) Indeed Thursday 9th, 2020 was a remarkable and memorable day when ten confreres celebrated their priestly anniversaries at the Church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. The celebration began with the Eucharistic celebration at the church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, wherein the confreres thanked the Lord for the fruitful years of dedicated service in the Lord’s vineyard.
The Vice Provincial Superior Fr. Joterio Aghoja C.Ss.R led the Eucharistic celebration, concelebrated by Fr. Godfrey Udeh C.Ss.R and Fr. Michael Eihebhoria C.Ss.R. The host was the Superior and Pastor of Our Mother of Perpetual Help community, Fr. Pius Akande Babatunde C.Ss.R. Fr. Pius and the Vice Provincial Superior are the first Redemptorists in Nigeria.
Fr. Joterio Aghoja and Fr. Pius Babatunde marked twenty (20) years of their priestly anniversaries. Fr. Jude Anyaegbu C.Ss.R celebrated sixteen (16) years. Fr. Gabriel Achu C.Ss.R and Fr. Godfrey Udeh C.Ss.R celebrated fourteen (14) years, Fr. Hyacinth Agomuoh C.Ss.R celebrated six (6) years, Fr. Kingsley Anoghala C.Ss.R celebrated five (5) years, Fr. Ambrose Unuajohwofia C.Ss.R celebrated four (4) years, while Fr. Michael Eihebhoria C.Ss.R and Fr. Stephen Okechukwu C.Ss.R celebrated two (2) years of their priestly ordination anniversaries.
The celebration continued with a fellowship meal in the community. The confreres recalled their ordination days and celebrated together for their beautiful vocations to the priesthood. We pray that God may continue to bless us in our commitments and to work for the poor and the most abandoned.
