October 20, 2020, was a special day for our Congregation, especially the Indonesian Redemptorists. On this day, fourteen deacons were ordained to be priests. The ordination celebration took place at the Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer in Waingapu – Wara, Sumba.
“We are grateful to have known and seen Him” was the theme of the celebration was. In this way, the deacons expressed their gratitude and joy.
The priestly ordination was connected with celebrating the 61st anniversary of Weetebula Diocese and Andaluri High School. It was the Diocese of Weetebula, where the Redemptorist started the foundation in Indonesia in 1957. Anda Luri is our High School, which contributes to the formation of our candidates. The six of today ordained were its students.
The newly ordained priests will be assigned to ministry in Germany, Japan, and various places in Indonesia.
Let us continue to support them at every step of their mission and apostolate. May they continue to pour the Redemptorist spirit in their work of service.
