(Italy) As we read at the conclusion of the Encyclical, the document was “Given in Assisi, at the tomb of St. Francis, on October 3, the eve of the Feast of the Saint, in the year 2020, the eighth of my Pontificate”.

“All Brothers”, wrote St. Francis of Assisi to address all brothers and sisters and to propose to them a form of life with a taste of the Gospel. Among his advice, I want to highlight one in which he invites us to a love that goes beyond the barriers of geography and space.  Here he declares blessed is the one who loves the other when he is as far from him as if he were next to him.

With these few simple words he explained the essential of all embracing fraternity, which allows us to recognize, appreciate and love each person beyond physical closeness, beyond the place in the world where he was born or where he lives.
