The Redemptorists have always been in my Parish, and they always made me feel welcome. Their homes were always open.  They were always inviting people to come to see how they work and how they pray. Also, they did a lot for the parishes they served, especially the communities of Giraudel and Eggleston, where I grew up.  They built bus stops and generally did things to mentor young men and sponsor sporting events. I wanted to be like them – always giving back to the community, so I chose the Redemptorists. – so Fr. Elton John Letang C.Ss.R. recalls his memories on the beginnings his way toward the religious life and priestly ministry.

In the article “The journey to the priesthood of Father Elton John Letang C.Ss.R. and more” in the “Dominica News Online” by Marie-Therese Junkerre, he shares his experience of discovering his vocation and the contemporary parish ministry at the time of Covid-19. He also talks about his steady concern to be close to the people, especially young, to accompany them and help to discover the beauty of the Gospel in their lives.
