Dear Confreres,

Greetings from Rome! We continue to pray for you and all the confreres, Sisters, lay associates and families during this time of pandemic. We accompany with our prayers especially the abandoned and the poor, many of whom are isolated, without livelihood, and facing very serious and real challenges for themselves and their families. This is the wounded world in which we are called to witness to the Redeemer today!

I write you this note today to let you know directly that the coronavirus has come to our community here at Sant’Alfonso in Rome. Over the last week, five members of our community and five employees have tested positive. Thanks be to God, no one is suffering from grave symptoms. The public health service has visited our house, and we are carefully following all the measures recommended. We hope that those infected will soon recover fully.

Many Provinces and communities have already faced similar situations. During this challenging time, I invite you to redouble your prayer, care for one another, and our solidarity as one missionary body. We entrust ourselves to the care of our Mother of Perpetual Help and the prayers of St. Alphonsus and all our Saints.

Your brother in Jesus our Redeemer,

Michael Brehl, C.Ss.R.
