(Burkina Faso) The Redemptorist family joined in celebration with four Redemptoristines who made their perpetual profession on 29th January 2021 at the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Diabo in the Diocese of Fada N’Gourma (Burkina Faso).

Sisters Marcela Marie SAWADOGO and Jeanne ZOUNGRANA made their perpetual vows and Sisters Marie Léonie SAWADOGO, Monique MANNO, Blandine OUEDRAOGO completed 25 years of religious life. The Holy Mass was presided over by Bishop Pierre Claver MALGO joined by ten priests from the Diocese. The Vicar General of the Diocese of Ouahigouya was present, on behalf of Bishop Justin KIENTEGA. A good number of faithful came to enhance the joy of the celebration. The Holy Eucharistic celebration began at 9:30 a.m. and the programs continued till 1:30 p.m.

Bishop Malgo in his homily recognized the importance of the Redemptorist Sisters in his diocese. He affirmed saying “Redemptorist Sisters are the spiritual lungs of my diocese”. He urged them to imitate the faith of Abraham who ventured with God. The person who trusts in the Lord will lack nothing. He also invited them to imitate Saint Paul who, for Christ’s sake, considers everything rubbish. There is joy in serving God, but it comes with sacrifice. This is why Christ says that whoever wants to follow him must take up his cross. Bishop ended his homily by giving thanks to God for the gift of a vocation and by exhorting the faithful to pray for peace in Burkina Faso. Imam of Diabo, a Muslim representative, brought gifts to the Mother Prioress. It is an eloquent sign to understand the fraternal bonding between both communities. We give thanks to God for the wonderful missionary works and intercede our Mother of Perpetual Help to accompany us in our missionary journey.
