(India) On Thursday, February 18th, 2021, a Zoom meeting was programed between the General Secretariat of Formation members in Rome and the formators of the three Units of India. Fathers Alberto Eseverri, C.Ss.R., the Congregation’s Vicar and Secretariat president and Fr. Manny Rodríguez, C.Ss.R., general secretary, presented to the 26 formators present various important themes related to the formation and the actual processes we are living as we go forward towards the 26th General Chapter to be celebrated in 2022. Father Michael Brehl, C.Ss.R., the Congregation’s General Superior, also participated in the meeting offering various insights into the topics and processes presented.
The program of this Zoom meeting included four main presentations:
- a presentation on the updated in 2020 of the Ratio Formationis Generalis,
- a presentation on the analysis of the formation programs as petitioned by the 25th General Chapter in its Decision # 30,
- a presentation on principle aspects and responsibilities of the new Secretariats of Formation that will be organized in response to the new reconfigured Units
- and finally a display of the materials available for formators on the new formation webpage, www.cssr.news/formation Also, the participants presented what is happening regarding formation in the Units of India.
Among the topics brought up in the dialogue section of the encounter was the importance and availability of the documents that help formators in their ministry of the accompaniment of formation.
Father General concluded the encounter expressing the importance of this type of meeting and confirming the General Secretariat’s availability to participate in similar encounters of formators of sectors or entire Conferences.
