From 9 to 12 August 2021, in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine), “St. Alphonsus’ Cup” was held – an annual football competition of teams of altar-servers from parishes, which are ministered by the Redemptorists. Five teams participated in this tournament.
In addition to the sportive component, there was also a spiritual part – the first two days were dedicated to the spiritual well being of our altar-servers. They arrived from different parishes, and they stayed together in the Redemptorists community of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ivano-Frankivsk. They spent time in prayer and meditation on Christian leadership. It was a good opportunity for them to get to know each other better. On the day of the sports competition, the winner was a team of altar-servers from Lviv from the parish of St. Josaphat, named “Kaspar” in honour of the Blessed Redemptorist Kaspar Stangassinger.
