The young Indonesian redemptorist priests (under five years from their ordination) met on January 10-11, 2022. This activity was held at the retreat house of St. Alphonsus, Weetebula, Sumba, Indonesia.
On this occasion, there were 19 young priests present. They live on the island of Sumba. Meanwhile, those outside Sumba could not attend for several reasons.
This meeting was chaired by Fr. Lino Maran as coordinator of young priests and accompanied by Fr. Willy Ngongo Pala. The gathering began with a prayer together. In the first session, Father Provincial held a talk. He invited and encouraged all young Redemptorist priests to continue to grow in personal and pastoral maturity.
The event continued with discussions and sharing pastoral experiences on the second day. On this occasion, they expressed their hopes and aspirations as young Redemptorists who are in a transitional period in the ministry.
In the last part, they planned the activities throughout 2022. Among them are thematic sermon workshops and spirituality week. The gathering ended with lunch together.
May we move forward in proclaiming abundant redemption this year. Fr. Lino, welcome to the group all the newly ordained!
