Together with the NGO “OLVIDADOS”, our small association Acoger y Compartir, is collaborating to bring to the border of Romania with Ukraine several trucks with the material received from various municipalities and small NGOs that do not have the means to transport what they have collected.
Several lorries have left this week from Pamplona and Madrid. At the Romanian border there is a large warehouse where they unload and for distribution there are Ukrainians who take it to different destinations. One of the distribution points is a Redemptorist community in Ukraine near the border.
From Madrid, on Thursday 10 March, two trailers were loaded with food, sanitary material, medicines, hygiene products, blankets, emergency material, etc. The company SESE from Zaragoza has agreed to carry out the transport at an affordable price.
For next week there is already material for another two trucks, the day of their departure is yet to be decided. We do not want to remain only in words, but to combine possibilities to share with those who are in so much need. We are happy to know that the Autonomous Communities are already processing the reception of the thousands of refugees.
