Great joy was experienced in the Redemptorist Province of Mexico in the past few days. Two confreres were ordained priests. They are Luis Enrique Ramírez Gutiérrez and Urbano Marcos Gutiérrez Sánchez. Luis Enrique was born on 23 February 1994 in the city of Irapuato, Guanajuato; Urbano was born on 24 February 1982 in Santa María Jajalpa, State of Mexico. On June 17, they made their profession of faith and oath of fidelity in the cathedral of Irapuato in front of the Bishop of that diocese, Monsignor Enrique Díaz Díaz, and the Redemptorist Provincial of Mexico, José Guadalupe Nazarín Ramos.
The following day, Monsignor Díaz Díaz himself ordained Luis Enrique and Urbano to the priesthood in the Redemptorist church of Santa Anita in Irapuato, Guanajuato. During the Eucharist, they were joyfully accompanied by confreres and Redemptorist formandi.
At the end of the celebration, there was a reception with food and joyful music.
Congratulations to the new priests. We thank God for this moment of joy that we have witnessed as a Redemptorist Family.
