About 30 Major Superior of our Congregation have been participating in a one-week formation meeting organized by General Government in Rome. It started last Monday, March 6, with the Eucharist in the Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and has continued through the next four days, when the participants were presented with several topics connected with their leadership ministry for their Units and collaboration with the General Government.
Fr. General Rogerio Gomes and the General Consultors presented a vision for the next sexennium and various issues relevant to their responsibility and were available for discussion and individual conversation. The participants learned about the General Secretariats and other central institutions of our Congregation. They were introduced to administrative issues, canonical procedures, safeguarding, and financial administration and discussed current problems and challenges of the leadership. At the end of the meeting, the Major Superiors were presented the Final Document of the 26th General Chapter.
Apart from formative sessions, a very important part of the meeting was a daily celebration of the Eucharist and fraternal sharing on various occasions in the participant group and in the whole international Redemptorist St. Alphonsus and Collegio Maggiore community in Rome.
This Saturday, on the last day of the gathering, the Major Superiors will pilgrim to Pagani to pray at St. Alphonsus de Liguori’s tomb, and by his intercession, entrust the Most Holy Redeemer their ministry in the Congregation.
