The NGO Association AMAP, continue supporting the Redemptorist Missionaries of Ukraine of Lviv Province, who are responding on a daily basis to the humanitarian tragedy unleashed by the war. The project has been done in collaboration with Fr. José Luis Bartolomé CSsR and other Redemptorists working in Barcelona. Thanks to some large baby food companies, laboratories, canning and sausage companies, and others who have collaborated and contributed to cover the transportation costs, from April 11, 2022, to May 5, 2023, we were able to send seven trucks with humanitarian help to the Social Center of the Redemptorists Fathers in Lviv.
With the knowledge of the needs presented to us and the worsening of the situation, we have organised groups of volunteers to coordinate the collection of food, clothing, hygiene and sanitary materials and everything that could be useful to the refugee population, such as flashlights, batteries for cell phones, batteries, personal hygiene products, footwear, etc.
The costs of the shipments have been covered by AMAP Association funds, thanks to donations from individuals received since the beginning of the Support Ukraine campaign. The increase in fuel prices has slowed down this Humanitarian Aid project carried out by AMAP Association. On May 5 of this year, we resumed the activity and organised the shipment of the seventh truck.
We hope to continue collaborating with the Redemptorists. May God grant that the war in Ukraine will end soon.
