Slovak Redemptorist missionary fathers, the Tree of Life mission fellowship, and the Vytautas Magnus University pastoral team, with the help of the Fount of Mercy pastoral fellowship, are organising a worship school in Kaunas, Lithuania. It will start on Friday, June 16th, and finish on Sunday, June 18th. The venue of the event is the conference school hall of a Jesuit college (Rotušes A. 9).

An invitation comes as a formation opportunity for music ministry in our units. Fr. Rastislav Dluhý, a member of a working group of new missionary initiatives in the Conference of Europe, sees this opportunity as a part of the preparation for the Jubilee Year of 2025. Pope Francis suggests that the year 2024 will be a year of a “Symphony of prayer” in which we will adore, listen and worship the Lord. This time can be an apt opportunity to meet the Redemptorists and lay partners in the mission in Lithuania in view of further cooperation.

The school will be led by Scott and Donna Underwood, who have been cooperating over many years with both the Redemptorists and the Slovak lay mission communities River of Life and Calvary. It will be the first time that they will have ministered in the Baltic region.

The worship school will be partly led in the style of a retreat. It is open to all who would like to grow in their understanding of a worship lifestyle and spirituality as well as learn practical ways to minister in this area in the Church. It will include teaching on integral worship that involves the heart, mind, and body of the believer. Parts of the teaching will be dedicated to practical formation in worship ministry.

Registration for the event will be open until Friday, June 9th. For more information and registration, contact us via e-mail: misijumokykla3m@gmail.com.

This worship school can help our mission teams to find some creative ways to minister and evangelise through beauty, music and art. It is a part of our Redemptorist charism to minister and proclaim the Good news by word, picture and music.
