On the 31st of May 2023, four of our novices made their First Profession at our common novitiate (Bangalore, Liguori, and Majella) in Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. Of the four novices one (Arun) belongs to Liguori Province and three (Mark, Rohith, and Romeo) belong to the Vice Province of Majella. We are grateful to God for the gift of these four confreres to our congregation.
After the year-long novitiate under the guidance of Fr Jaison (Novice Master), Fr Sahaya (Rector), Fr Lester (Socius), and Fr Rajanayagam (the member), the novices committed themselves to the Lord at the solemn eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Henry Fernandes (V. Provincial – Majella) and Fr Poly (Provincial – Liguori) and many other Redemptorists and other priests belonging to different congregations. Many Religious Sisters, Brothers, and laity too participated in the Profession ceremony.
It was the last time we were having our First Professions at Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu in the Province of Bangalore, as the Novitiate will henceforth be in Kunnambetta, Kerala, India in the Province of Liguori. The Novitiate at Kunnambetta, Kerala will formally be inaugurated by the heads of the three (Bangalore, Liguori, Majella) units on the 9th of June 2023. This will the new Inter-Unit Novitiate in India.
