The Redemptorist Foundation of Social and Educational Works of Pilar (FROSEP) celebrates 50 years of institutional life. The anniversary was marked with parades and sports activities among all the educational institutions that are members of the NGO. The activity ended with a mass of thanksgiving.”
The Fundación Redentoristas de Obras Sociales y Educacional de Pilar (FROSEP) was created on the initiative of Redemptorist priest Federico Schiavon on September 1, 1973. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization recognized by Decree No. 993 of the Executive Power.
The Foundation has an education department, which is the nucleus in charge of directing and accompanying the actions carried out in the institutions that depend on it. At present, it has educational institutions of subsidized private management, which provide educational services at the different levels of the National Educational System, including Initial, Basic School, Middle Level, Professional, Special and Permanent Education.
The President of FROSEP, Father Gianluigi Arofo, pointed out that it was not easy to decide to lead such a big and prestigious Foundation. He thanked the people of Pilar for their support and confidence in him.
Festive activities
All the educational institutions dependent on FROSEP carried out sports and recreational activities during the week among teachers and directors—also Paraguayan dance and rhythmic gymnastics competitions.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of FROSEP, the presence of Cardinal Adalberto Martinez had been announced. Still, he sent his greetings to the people of Pilar and justified his absence for health reasons. According to what the display informed those present at the Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the first Paraguayan Cardinal suffers from a case of covid-19.
In his absence, the Mass of thanksgiving was presided over by the superior of the Redemptorist Congregation of Paraguay, Father Osvaldo Duarte CSsR. Osvaldo Duarte CSsR. Political and local authorities were present at the Eucharistic celebration.
