The Redemptorist Province of Santiago de Chile, during the first days of October, celebrated some events of great significance for its project of apostolic, spiritual and community life.

On Sunday 1 October, the Feast of Perpetual Help was celebrated in the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Santiago de Chile, with the participation of members of various apostolic groups of the Redemptorist communities of the Province, as well as a good number of Redemptorists priests and brothers.

Likewise, the 2023 annual retreat was held, with the participation of the members of the Province, which took place from Monday 2 to Friday 6 October, at the San Alberto Hurtado Retreat House, in the city of Santiago. It was a propitious space to live in a spirit of unity, prayer, and reflection, having as a backdrop the motto of the six-year period: Missionaries of Hope in the footsteps of the Redeemer in the key to discernment and projection starting from the themes that the General Chapter worked on in its phase rectory, closing with the theme of community life in the Province.

The retreat day was preached by Father Jairo Díaz Rodríguez, General Consultor for Latin America, and the Caribbean. The theme of the retreat was centred on discernment as a potential for making decisions, for living the theological virtue of hope, for following Christ starting from the Constitutions and Statutes and the consolidation of the Project of community life, this being the animating axis of the first year of the six-year period proposed by the General Government. During the retreat, there were spaces for personal and community prayer, the celebration of the Eucharist, animated prayer with the Holy Rosary and other community activities which strengthened unity and brotherhood during the days of the meeting.
