On 24th December 2023, the Redemptorists from the Region of Korea had a Christmas party with the migrants in the Incheon diocese, Deagot parish. We called it “John Neumann Korea Language School.” The three Redemptorist oblates taught the Korean language to the migrants. They were from Sri Lanka, Laos, and Thailand.

They worked instead of Koreans in the factory. Because Koreans don’t want to work hard and in dangerous places. So, the migrants work in those places. We call 3D locations, which means Dirty, Dangerous, and Difficult. And they work very hard in their places.

Some factory workers cannot rest on Saturdays and Sundays because the factories are very busy. But they gather in Deagot parish every Sunday. Why? They want to know how to use the Korean language and assimilate into Korean culture. One lady married a Korean man and lived near Deagot parish, working on their farm. Sometimes, she harvested sweet potatoes, pumpkins, radish, and cabbage ingredients for Kimchi.

We enjoyed our party, with laughter and played a bingo game with numbers and some Korean words. And we shared the an outters, a jumppers, a pants, and theirs traditional foods now in Korea already started winter season and daily necessities. We thank you, our Lord Jesus. Although we have different religions, we can feel Jesus’ love. May God bless them, always protecting them and their families. Please pray for them.
