From February 9-11,2024, the youth leaders of the Redemptorist Youth Mission (RYM) of the Vice Province of Manila had their updating of the RYM Manual and strategic planning for the whole year at St. Gerard Majella Mission Community (Northern Luzon) at Laoag, Ilocos Norte. The respective goal animators, youth coordinators, and youth directors of the different Apostolic units from Baclaran, Lipa, Legazpi, and Northern Luzon, gathered to discuss their plans for the year and the important common events coming—ASIOC Youth Gathering, Alphonsian Day, National Youth Day, and Alphonsian Youth Mission Day.
A recollection was done before the planning to ask for guidance and help from God in accomplishing the things that needed to be done. Each Apostolic unit presented its activities and plans, mission, and vision, manual and goals in their community. The manual was revisited, and everyone contributed to making the necessary changes and improvements with the help of the ideas inspired by the manual created by each unit for it to be more applicable to everyone.
The three-day planning became productive and meaningful with the help of everyone’s contribution and dedication in making the necessary changes and contributing ideas for the programs to be implemented. This became an opportunity for the youth leaders to gather and bond with each other, which can help them be more effective leaders and gain more experience for the youth of the Redemptorist of the Vice-Province of Manila.
On the last day of the planning, rest and recreation were scheduled to tour around the province of Ilocos and visit some of its famous tourist spots where everyone got closer to each other and refreshed their minds before returning to their communities. It was a challenging yet fulfilling experience for everyone where we got to deepen and reflect on our knowledge about the things that we lack as well as our strengths as leaders of the Redemptorist Youth Mission in the Vice-Province of Manila.
