Father Witold Kawecki, a Redemptorist and professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, was named winner of the FENIKS special prize in the religion and culture category – announced on April 11, 2024, by the FENIKS Prize Chapter of the Association of Catholic Publishers, which accompanies the Catholic Publishers Fair almost since its birth.
The prize was awarded in recognition of Father Professor Kawecki’s rich activity, which can be considered in at least four areas: publishing and writing, science, media, and preaching.
The chapter of the award recognized the author’s creative passion for disseminating sacred art and religious tourism. The result of this passion is a series of guidebooks published in recent years, much appreciated by readers. In them, Fr. Kawecki presents the most important artefacts of Italy’s rich cultural and social heritage. At the same time, he introduces the reader to the evangelizing dimension of culture.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at the Polish Army Field Cathedral, also known as the BMV Queen of the Polish Crown Church.
On the same day, as part of the Catholic Publishing Fair, a meeting was held with Fr. Witold Kawecki and the presentation of his latest book, “Travels in Italy with Artemisia Gentileschi.”
Congratulations and best wishes for his future endeavours!
