The visit of our new Provincial, Father Gennaro Sorrentino, to the French-speaking area of the Province of Europe South began on Tuesday, 16 April. The meeting with the confreres of our three communities in northern France (Luxembourg, Bischenberg and Les Trois Epis) took place in our community at Pèlerinage des Trois Epis.
Nineteen confreres were present around the Father Provincial to fraternally share the mission and their community life. The Provincial invited the confreres to rejoice in the testimony in a spirit of mutual listening and in a synodal style in order to form a missionary body for the mission.
Our Constitution n. 22 shows us a main path. He tells us that: “This community life takes its example from that of the Apostles (see Mk 3.14; Acts 2.42-45; 4.32): it leads us, in a truly fraternal exchange, to share prayer and research, suffering and work, successes and failures, as well as material resources, for the service of the Gospel. The concrete forms of this community life will be adapted to the needs of evangelization and the needs of fraternal charity, keeping in mind that the word “Community” designates both the entire Congregation, the (Vice)Province, and the local or personal community.” This is truly the noble task that drives us to serve the Gospel.
