On the 27th of April 2024, the Vice-Province of Majella (3803), India, was blessed with the priestly ordination of Jackson Souz, CSsR. After completing his seminary studies, he did his diaconate ministry at Sacred Heart Church in Worli, Mumbai, India.
He was ordained a Priest by Bishop Barthol Barretto, the Bishop of Nashik Diocese at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Uttan Pali, which is part of the Archdiocese of Bombay.
There were many Redemptorists, diocesan priests, Capuchins, and other clergy who joined in the ordination ceremony. Many nuns and lay faithful too graced the occasion. It was a significant moment for us Redemptorists, as Jackson is the first Redemptorist priest from Uttan locality, a prominent area for vocations to various congregations of both men and women.
Jackson is a man of deep spirituality and is blessed with all the skills required for his ministry as a Redemptorist. While we acknowledge with gratitude the sacrifice of his parents and siblings, we also assure Jackson our camaraderie and care and wish him a fruitful ministry and continued health of body and mind.
