Cebu City, Philippines – The Redemptorist Vocations Ministry held a two-day meeting at the Provincial Center in Cebu City from May 13 to 14, 2024, bringing together 35 participants to discuss strategies for fostering vocations in the Philippine context.

The event, hosted by the Cebu Redemptorist Vocations Office, commenced with a Holy Hour led by Fr. Ferderiz Cantiller, CSsR, followed by a welcome address and inspirational message from the Redemptorist Provincial Superior of Cebu, Very Rev. Edilberto Cepe, CSsR.

Two key talks were presented during the meeting: “Brand-Storming: Towards a Redemptorist Vocation Promotional Branding” by Rev. Fr. Eric Sevencruz, CSsR, Director of RAMM, and “Basic Orientation on Vocation and Pastoral Works for Vocation” by guest speaker Fr. Aljun Narit Maglangit, SchP.

Participants included local vocation directors, lay vocation promoters, representatives from Congregations within the Alphonsian family in Cebu, and a delegation from VP Manila.

The meeting aimed to lay the groundwork for collaboration and the development of a strong vocational culture across various units in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. Each vocation ministry shared its experiences in working with young people and supporting their discernment process.

In addition to the discussions and presentations, the meeting also provided an opportunity for those in charge of vocations to deliberate on 21 young applicants for the St. Alphonsus Collegiate Seminary for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The Redemptorist Vocations Ministry’s efforts in Cebu City underscore the congregation’s commitment to nurturing vocations and promoting the Redemptorist charism in the Philippines.
