Saturday, 25th May, was a day of joy for our Province of Brasilia. On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity in the Basilica of the Divine Eternal Father, in Trindade (GO), Brazil, Brothers Antônio Luís, Eurípedes Júnior, Francisco Wallenstein and Valmir Costa were ordained deacons through the imposition of hands and consecratory prayer of Mgr Danival Milagres, Auxiliary Bishop of Goiânia. The Holy Mass was attended by many confreres, diocesan priests, religious, faithful and relatives of new deacons.

In his homily, Bishop Danival expressed his joy at celebrating the diaconal ordination of these four young men. He emphasised how important the grace of religious consecration is, which seeks always to serve others with joy and generosity. The bishop explained that the reason for our service is not simply human reward but our desire to give of ourselves and make others happy through our closeness to the People of God.

Fr. João Paulo Santos CSsR, our Provincial Superior, expressed the joy of all those who make up the Province of Brasilia in welcoming four more deacons in the service of the People of God. He encouraged the new deacons to continue serving with enthusiasm and boldness because the Congregation expects much from each of them. Finally, he thanked all present for their participation and prayers, especially Bishop Danival for accepting the invitation to preside over the celebration.

Our congratulations to the new deacons of our Province of Brasilia. We pray for the perseverance of each of them and the diaconal ministry they are assuming in the Church and the Congregation.
