Under the motto “Master, where do you live?” (Jn 1:38), the St. Alphonsus formation house in El Rímac, Lima was the place of the First Redemptorist Vocational Gathering of the Bolivia-Peru Province, which took place from July 22 to 29, 2024. This important event brought together 12 young people from Huanta, Nazca, Cajamarca, Piura, and Lima, who gathered to explore and deepen their vocation in the context of Redemptorist spirituality.

The gathering, organized by the Redemptorist Province of Bolivia-Peru, offered a unique opportunity for the young participants to delve into the life and mission of the congregation. Throughout the week, attendees participated in a series of formative, spiritual and community activities designed to strengthen their understanding of the Redemptorist vocation and their commitment to the mission of the congregation.

The programme included talks given by experienced members of the congregation, moments of reflection and prayer, and group activities that encouraged cooperation and the sharing of experiences. In addition, spaces were offered for personal and community discernment, allowing young people to explore and reflect on their own vocational path.

One of the highlights of the gathering was the opportunity to learn more about the projects and pastoral work of the Redemptorists in Bolivia and Peru. Participants had the opportunity to interact with members of the congregation and learn about the various efforts they make to meet the needs of local communities.

The event concluded with a Eucharistic celebration in which God was thanked for the richness of the experiences shared and divine guidance was asked for in the vocational journey of each of the young people present. The gathering was an enriching experience for both the participants and the organizers, leaving a lasting impression and renewing the spirit of mission and service within the Bolivia-Peru Province.

The First Redemptorist Vocation Gathering has established itself as an important milestone in vocational formation in the region, and it is hoped that future events will continue to strengthen the commitment of young people to the Redemptorist mission.
