On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the ordination of Brother Ngonidzashe Magaya CSsR as deacon and the ordination of Oscar Madzonganyika CSsR and Erick Silence Makova CSsR as priests were celebrated at St Fidelis & OLPH Parish in Mabvuku, Zimbabwe. The Eucharist was presided over by Mgr. Robert Christopher Ndlovu, Archbishop of Harare, Zimbabwe. In his homily, Fr. Albert Zindonda encouraged the ordinands to live the Gospel message they preach to others.

A large crowd of faithful from the Archdiocese of Harare gathered on Saturday 20, July at the parish of St Fidelis and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Mabvuku to attend the ordination of a deacon and two priests.

The sister of one of the ordinands, Fr. Silence Makova, said he grew up as a humble young man who enjoyed serving Mass. She encouraged him to continue praying to overcome temptations.

The lay representative of St. Fidelis, Mrs. Mudimu, thanked everyone for their hard work in ensuring the success of the ordination. The Superior of the Redemptorists, Fr. Macharaga, echoed the same sentiments, acknowledging the efforts of the community.

In his address, Archbishop Robert Christopher Ndlovu of the Archdiocese of Harare expressed his appreciation for the new additions to the priesthood, saying he is confident that they will serve well in the Archdiocese of Harare.
After the Mass, the participants were served delicious food, which enriched the celebration.
