From August 5th to 8th, the meeting of treasurers of the Mother of Perpetual Help Province was held at the Casa San Gerardo Mayela in Cotuí, Dominican Republic. Remarkable participation came from Central America and the Caribbean. This meeting began with a spiritual retreat lasting a whole day; Dr Omar Arbaje de Moya presented the theme: “Values of the Economy in the Congregation: accountability, solidarity, and Mission.”

The following day, Father Vicente Soria Fleitas C.Ss.R., the Economo General, through the virtual media gave a presentation on the Financial status of the Congregation. Later in the afternoon, Father José Enmanuel Peña presented the Province’s Directory of Economy.

One of the important aspects that were developed was the systematization of the finance, which allows, in a clear way, the inputs and outputs of each mission and the respective budgets; therefore, on Wednesday during the whole day, the virtual program of the economy that will be used in the Province was presented, mainly the general aspects of this, and it was noted that it has a user-friendly interface that facilitates the work for the congregation.

Finally, during this period, we presented the finances of each house and mission and also gave a short course on how to make a budget. In this way, the economy of our unit is being constituted little by little. As a last point, space was given to welcome ideas that help to improve and give economic stability to the province.

These steps are important to have a transparent and honest accounting at the service of the community and evangelization, fruit of God’s Providence and the work of the confreres.
