Slovakia: Temporary and perpetual profession in the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer

On the 15th of August, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,  two Redemptorists made their religious profession in the presence of Fr. Jozef Mihok CSsR, the superior of the Bratislava-Prague Province of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, in the Church of St. Stanislaus in Podolínec. The novice Br. Andrej Skokan took temporary vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience; Br. Ján Kniez took perpetual vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, in addition to the vow and oath to remain in the Congregation.

Ján Kniez CSsR, originally from Lovčice – Trubín, began his formation in the Redemptorist Congregation in 2018. He professed temporary vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience on 11 September 2021, after a one-year interprovincial novitiate in the community of Ciorani, near Naples, in which novices from Slovakia, Italy and Spain participated. In the next academic year, he will continue his studies for a Master’s degree in Catholic Theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Trnava in the 6th year.

Andrej Skokan CSsR comes from Spišská Teplice and began his formation in the Redemptorist Order in 2020. After receiving his bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Trnava, he completed his novitiate in Lubaszowa, Poland. In the academic year 2024/2025, he will continue his studies for a Master’s degree in Catholic Theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Trnava in the 4th year.
