The preparation meeting for the European Redemptorist Youth Congress 2025 has ended, leaving participants inspired, united, and filled with hope for the journey ahead. Over three days, youth leaders from eight European provinces gathered in Limerick, Ireland, from 4th to 6th October to build connections, share ideas, and prepare for the much-anticipated Congress.
The event opened with a powerful welcome and connection from Father Brendan O’Rourke (Dublin Provincial). A key moment of the evening was the symbolic handover from Martyna Karlińska of Poland to the new hosts in Ireland, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The unveiling of the 2025 Congress theme and logo ignited excitement, setting a course for a future filled with purposeful hope.
Day 2 took place at the historic Mary Immaculate College, where leaders were inspired by the college’s 125-year legacy of faith and education. A beautiful Eucharistic celebration brought everyone together, followed by a lively exploration of Limerick’s streets and rich cultural heritage.
The afternoon session, led by Brendan Dineen, Pa Cotter, and Jessica O’Rafferty, sparked meaningful conversations about empowering young people in their faith. Jessica’s personal story resonated deeply, reminding everyone of the impact youth leaders can make by truly listening and guiding young people.
Throughout the day, laughter, conversation, and fellowship flowed, strengthening the community spirit that underpins the mission of Redemptorist Youth Ministry.
As the final day arrived, the group gathered at Mount St. Alphonsus, reflecting on the journey ahead. The Irish team laid out clear next steps, unveiling key dates, roles, and the Congress budget. Thoughtful discussions ensued, with a shared sense of purpose growing stronger. A reflective prayer session honouring the legacy of past European Redemptorist Youth Congresses closed the meeting, followed by a Sunday Mass that left everyone uplifted.
As we move forward, we are reminded of the shared mission and faith that unite Redemptorists across Europe. Together, we continue the sacred call to mission and outreach, carrying the message of hope and renewal to the youth of Europe. With renewed energy, direction, and a shared mission, the road to the European Redemptorist Youth Congress 2025 is now well underway. This gathering of leaders has truly set the stage for a future filled with faith, fellowship, and purposeful action.
