On the evening, October 31, 2024, marked the closing of the Rosary month. The St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish in Cijantung held a Marian procession, beginning from the Slamet Riyadi School ground. Parishioners gathered in their respective regions, and the procession began at 6:00 PM. While waiting, they prayed together in small groups.

The procession was joined by 13 regions (47 communities). This was the first time a Marian procession was held here. Each region moved towards the church, singing, and praying along the way. Despite the lively atmosphere, a deep sense of reverence in prayer could still be felt.

The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was positioned last in the procession, carried on a platform by four female communion ministers with great respect. At the end of the procession, the congregation received prayers and blessings, and they were sprinkled with holy water as a symbol of “welcome home.”

After the procession, the celebration continued with the Eucharistic Mass. Following the Mass, everyone gathered in the churchyard to enjoy the prepared snacks. Joy radiated from every face.

“We’re so happy with this procession. It feels nostalgic, like coming home after so long,” shared one lady with a smile.

“Thank you, Father. It feels like a homecoming,” said another woman from Ende-Flores, filled with emotion.

Indeed, everyone was involved, rejoicing together. The warmth and sense of community were palpable, with many young people taking part as well.

May this celebration deepen our faith and strengthen our unity as a community.
