“Pilgrims of Hope” – the motto of the Jubilee Year that is about to begin throughout the Church and also of the pastoral year in Poland – accompanied the annual homiletic seminar of the Redemptorists of the Warsaw Province, held in Toruń on 28-30 October 2024.

The meeting, organized by the Missions and Retreats Secretariat of our Province, was led by Father Tomasz Wieczorek, a doctoral student in homiletics at the Catholic University of Lublin and a priest of the Elbląg diocese. The workshop participants developed models of sermons for the retreat, to help them preach the Word of God in the coming year.

This type of workshop has been organized in Poland for about 20 years as a form of ongoing formation, used by a large group of brothers who preach missions and retreats. It is an opportunity for them to study the current pastoral program of the Church in Poland and to develop themes for retreats and sermons.

In total, the Redemptorists of the Warsaw Province conduct about 100 parish missions and almost the same number of missionary renewals each year, as well as about 700 retreat series. In addition, there are also more than 200 retreat series and spirituality courses for clergy, consecrated persons, and lay groups.
