On the occasion of the annual ongoing formation of the Redemptorist Province of Vietnam, the Mass celebrating the 292nd anniversary of the founding of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer was held two days earlier.

The Mass was presided over by Fr Dominic Nguyen Duc Thong, Provincial Superior of the Vietnamese Redemptorists, at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Saigon.

During the Province’s annual ongoing formation Week, Fr. Paul Luu Quang Bao Vinh, a General Consultor of the Redemptorists, came to assist the priests and brothers of the Vietnamese Redemptorist Province over the past three days and shared the Word of God during the Mass commemorating the founding of the Congregation. More than 200 priests, brothers, seminarians, postulants, novices, and the congregation joined in thanksgiving to Jesus, the Redeemer.

This occasion also served as a celebration of thanksgiving for 25, 50, and 70 years of religious vows; for 25, 50, and 60 years of priesthood; and for the 70th, 80th, and 90th birthdays of some of the priests and brothers.

We give thanks to the Redeemer for allowing our Congregation to bear His name for 292 years. As God has brought forth this Congregation, may He continue to keep us in His grace and help us to reach farther and grow stronger, to bring plentiful redemption to those who are poor and the most abandoned.
