On the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated in the United States and Canada this year on Monday, December 9, 2024, Princepius Mutabuzi made his First Profession of Vows as a member of the Redemptorist Province of Canada after completing his novitiate in the Philippines. The ceremony was held at St Patrick’s Church – Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Toronto with family, friends, and members of the Redemptorist and religious community in attendance. His vows were received by Fr. Santo Arrigo, C.Ss.R., Provincial Superior of the Province of Canada, who also presided over the Eucharistic celebration.

In his homily, Fr. Santo congratulated Princepius on his First Profession and welcomed him on the journey of discipleship lived by the Redemptorists—a life where each one is called, challenged, and sent to serve, and a life where each one is called to be a witness of hope in the footsteps of the Redeemer.

Following the Eucharist, light refreshments prepared by parish members were served in the hall, celebrating this important milestone.

Let us pray for Princepius and all members of the Redemptorist family, that, like Mary, they may continue to find the courage and strength to say “yes” to God’s call. May they respond to His call with generosity and open hearts and celebrate the mystery of His love through their commitment to serve with compassion especially for the poor and the abandoned.
